Cultural Narrative:
Carpenter Shop at Chemawa: Carpentry was one of the lasting professions taught to Indian students. This is at a boarding school in west-central Oregon. Students from as far as Arizona were sent to school here. Later, government schools were made regional so students could go to school a bit closer to their homes. Most schools were closed during the past three decades. Vivian Adams, Yakama
