Chief Joseph's robes displayed at Indian fair

Clipping from the Spokane Chronicle with a photograph and description of "Ceremonial robes of Chief Joseph Seltice."

The blurp below the picture says that they robes are ceremonial, but for what ceremony were they worn? It is an amazing picture for sure is there a date for it? Main interest on date is if it was during Chief Josephs life.

I did some digging and this is from the Spokane Daily Chronicle, October 29, 1936. I have to wonder where these robes are now. I hope they are still with the tribe and not in some museum somewhere. Amber Davis
