Fort Vancouver Story Gathering

Description:

This is a full length video of Confluence's Story Gathering event in November, 2017 at the Fort Vancouver Visitor's Center. The panel featured speakers David Harrelson, Josiah Blackeagle Pinkham, and Elizabeth Woody.

Confluence Story Gatherings are story driven discusions designed to elevate indiginenous voices in our understanding of the Columbia RIver system. First-person story telling has a unique power to deepen our understanding of the histories, cultures and environment that surrounds us. Confluence Story Gatherings are welcoming forums that feature the stories of native elders and culture bearers, told in their own voices, as a way to explore the interconnectedness of people and places of the Columbia River system. The events will feature video or audio selections of first-person narratives, followed by a discussion led by a panel of native guest speakers.
