hímiin maqsmáqs’ (Yellow Wolf's) sharpened wood point replica arrow (Bottom arrow)

Cultural Narrative:

This arrow, in the bottom of the photo, is one of two sharpened wood point arrows (1986.2.66 or 1986.2.67) crafted by hímiin maqsmáqs (Yellow Wolf) for L.V. McWhorter in the early 1900s. The arrow is one of four arrows that are replicas of arrows originally used by Nimíipuu (Nez Perce) warriors in the Nez Perce War battle Lamáta (The Battle of White Bird Canyon) on June 17, 1877.

The other arrow in the top of the photo (1986.2.64) is one of two steel-tipped replica arrows also created by hímiin maqsmáqs (Yellow Wolf) for L.V. McWhorter.
