Tomar and Margaret Handley, with Gladys Thompson (little girl) in wagon
Cultural Narrative:

The elder people in the wagon are Tomar and Margaret Handley who raised Gladys Thompson from a baby when her father passed away. They taught her to speak her first language of Kiksht. Margaret Handley was Gladys maternal grandmother. Tomar Handley was a judge and a Presbyterian Pastor. Gladys became a Kiksht Consultant for the CTWS Tribe and contributed much work to revitalize and maintain the Kiksht Language up until her passing in March of 2012 at the age of 97 years old.
