Root Gathering Bag

Description:

Round, twined, cylinder bag. Hemp and cedar root with cherry bark weft at bottom. Balance cedarroot and maidenhair fern. Human on horse figure and diamond designs in brown throughout. Smoked buckskin edging sewn down with buckskin a buckskin lace. Ends of buckskin lace are tied into a small loop. Bag has split open in various places aroundtop half of bag., height: 9"; diameter of opening: 9"

This was delicately made. The weaving work is very small, it seems to be very old by the way it has worn. It must be natural fibers the design is not running or fading. Arlita Rhoan
